Tradition, with its roots
Mayil Wellness was created to make traditional healing knowledge accessible without stripping it of its roots.
My work developed through years of direct study and practice in India with my teacher and mentor, Velayudhan Ji. Over time, I began working alongside him, assisting with his practice and learning through direct observation, transmission and experience. The methods I now offer come from this lineage.
Modern wellness often asks: “What can I give you to make you feel better?”
Our approach begins with a different question: “What is happening underneath?”
We take time to understand the person before deciding what form of work is appropriate.
Because this is not where our learning began
There are now thousands of wellness practitioners offering meditation, energy work, breathwork and “ancient healing” online. Mayil Wellness exists for a different reason.
Our work began in India, through a teacher and a living lineage. For four years, I have studied and worked alongside my teacher, Velayudhan Ji. I have learned through direct practice, not simply through books, online courses or modern interpretations of traditional systems.
The knowledge we bring forward has been preserved through family and teacher lineages in India.
My role is not to reinvent these traditions. It is to learn them properly, practise them responsibly and make selected aspects of this knowledge accessible to people outside India.
Founder of Mayil Wellness
My name is Moana. My work with traditional healing began in India, where I met my teacher, Velayudhan Ji. What started as study became years of apprenticeship, practice and work alongside him.
For the past four years, I have continued to study these traditions while assisting with his work in India and developing my own practice.
I wanted to create a space where people could encounter traditional Indian healing without turning it into a trend, a performance or something disconnected from its roots. I work with people one-to-one, both in person and online.
And I continue to study. Because in a living tradition, learning does not finish when you begin working with others.
